johnson to mercury help

Hi all, I have a 4.5hp mercury 1976 and 1983 6hp johnson can i cange the fuel fitting on the johnson to mercury so I can use the same fule can ??

Im not a Merc guy, so not familiar with their mounting, but Im sure you could rig it up somehow.

i changed the fitting on my mariner to johnson so i could use the same line as my main motor. you should have no problems with that.

I have several brands of motors and have "cheaters" for all of them. It's basically a 6-inch chunk of hose with a male fitting to fit my primary tank (Johnrude) on one end and the motor's female fitting on the other. I must have a half-dozen of them for old Mercs, newer Mercs, the small Mercs of the '60s, Scott Atwaters, Chryslers, etc.
