5.7 L V8, Alpha 1 IO engine stall

We have a 1997 Chaparral with a 5.7 L V8, Alpha 1 I/O. It runs good and strong for about 30 minutes then stalls. We bought it from a guy a few weeks ago. He said he's had all the fuel lines checked and maintenance done but it still has the problem. Any ideas?

Moving this to the Mercruiser forum, it's not an outboard.

It sounds like a plugged up fuel tank vent. When it stops, have you check to see if has spark?

as don says above and wi;; it run again afterwards or does it have to cool down.check the coil is not getting too hot and causing it too overheat.
