Motor wont stay running

The motor has sat for about five years. I cleaned out the carbs, both jets in both carbs were blocked. I replaced the VRO pump with just a regular fuel pump. The motor ran fine. I took it out on the water a few times with no problems. The last couple times i took it out when let up on the throttle it just seems to die. The motor will idle fine, run at low speeds fine and full throttle fine. Just when i let up to slow it cuts off. I believe its a fuel problem but i have no idea what it could be. Any suggestions?

I ran it again today and also came across these problems. One the primer the red valve was squirting out gas when i used the electric primer. So i took it apart and there is a crack in it. I already ordered the replacement. I dont think this has anything todo with it staying running, but may fix my problem with it being hard to start. Also the front of the carbs had gas building up.

replacing the primer solenoid will definitely help but it sounds like you have crud in your carbs again. did you clean the needle seat well too? sounds like you have a float sticking. put a cheap small inline fuel filter on you gas line from the tank.

Yes i had the carbs completely clean iI rechecked them again this past weekend. I also replaced primer solenoid, new plugs. It finally started back up and was running rough, it ran in a barrel for about 10 mins and then cut out, i had to rev it up a few times to keep it running.
Still seems like a fuel problem. There is good flow through the hose from the tank, and the carbs seem to be getting plenty of gas.
