Anyone ever add an anode inside OB water jacket?

I read somewhere that certain Yamaha et.al. outboards come with a zinc anode inside the water jackets, presumably to protect the block and water jackets from corrosion.

Got me to thinking, anyone ever add an anode to an old outboard? Maybe something like a pencil anode accessible from the outside of a water jacket cover or somesuch place?

Usually are screwed round anodes placed on already built inside exhaust cover or cylinder head water paths. You could add any type as long you have a proper place to bolt them securely and don't restrict path's water flow.
