hey,
so i'm shopping around for a starter motor for my Mercury, its a mid 70's 115hp inline 6, the number on my old starter is 50-72467. Im looking on ebay, there are lots just not sure which ones will work.

Thanks guys

Re: Compatible starters

You might want to check with a local starter rebuild shop to see what they will charge to rebuid the one you have. It might only need new brushes and the armiture cleaned up. Otherwise there are several aftermarket starters that should work and will have a warrenty that is good insurance. You might try one of the salvage yards in the Sticky on here to see if they have a good used one alittle cheaper. New or rebuilt would be much better in the long run. JMO

I would also start with local rebuild shop, unless you don,t have a starter.
