the temp sender on this engine has 2 wires comming out of it.
1 wire is tan with blue stripe the other is white with black stripe.

what exactly are these wires ?

how can i test the sender ?

the sender is infront of me out of the engine so i can easy put it in boiling water etc.

I don't have a manual for your engine, but I would think the tan wire is for the overheat horn in the control box. Turn the key to on and touch the tan wire to the block and see if the horn sounds off.
The other wire might be for a slow mode operation, shuts down a cylinder if the engine gets hot. Follow the wire, does it go to the power pack?
