First of all don't hold your breath here.
This is a winter project, and it's not even winter yet. This will be a place for me to ask fiber glassing questions.

My plan. 50-60" long, 12" wide, about 11" tall. Was going to make out of 1/2" plywood.
I want the corners to be rounded off, and thought I could glue in large cardboard tubes in the corners to make the rounded corners. Then use bondo to smooth everything out.

First question.
What should the mold be finished with?
Meaning what will be the quickest, easiest, most cost effective way to provide a finish that will produce a good part? (smooth part when pulled, and will pull relatively easy)
Is this something to use paint on or does the mold need to be gelled as well?

Second question

In that video after waxing the mold they simply brush on the gel coat. Will this produce a smooth finish when the part is pulled off the mold? (looks like it does in the video)

That's all for questions for now.
