I have a 310 Sundancer w/ twin Merc 350 Mag MPI's hooked up to V-Drives. The other day I went to power up and couldn't get her out of the water up on plane. My starboard motor which has less than 20 hours on it was making a strange inconsistent knock or clacking sound. All temps and oil pressure looked normal, no smoke. Oil looks fine no milky consistency. But the motor sounds really strange at high RPM under load as well. I mean outside of the random knocking sound. I don't even know where to start? It has been starting rough and idles and smokes until its warmed up, but then its fine. After warming up it idles fine and seems fine up until it hits a load and has to do work. Then comes the strange sound and random clacking / knocking.
