What is a distributor cap from the 70's made of?

Hi,

I'm wondering what type of material a distributor cap was made of in the 70's? It's off of a 72 thunderbolt 500. I'm taking a chance in gluing mine, and knowing the material allows me to buy the right glue for it.

Any help would be appreciated

I'm going to say Alkyd plastic. Only other real choice for a distributor cap would be Phenolic such as bakelite but they do not seem to be Phenolic.
