I have a J15RSDR motor. I bought a lower unit for it. I am converting it to a long shaft from short shaft. I have all that I need, except the copper tube in my midsection currently is not long enough. I call a mechanic and ask how to remove the current copper tube and replace with longer one as needed. I was told "just pull it out, it will slip right out, no problem" WRONG, IT WILL NOT. in the mean time I have completely destroyed my copper tube that is in the motor now, so I am fully committed, I have to get it out. Somebody please help me....i need it...."aw just pull on it, it will slip right out"ugh.

Sounds like you are going to have to pull the power head. There is a grommet on the water tube, now you can install the water tube and new grommet. Check the outlet water tube grommet while you have the power head off.

Ok, I have never done that before so, what is the best plan of attack?

1:Remove engine side covers, remove powerhead from leg, remove exhaust tube and you may pull out the tube the right way!!
2: Make a bill and send to the mechanic that told you 'just pull it down'!!!
