Picking up 16 ft Fiesta tomorrow.. has 50 hp Super seahorse on it.. Does anyone know what horsepower rating on this boat would be? Neighbor has early 70's Johnson 60 to sell me.

Do you know what year it is ? The 1961 Texas Maid Brochure shows 16 ft fiesta was rated for 35hp to 80hp

When you get time post some pix, of the boat & motors.
70's 60hp motor is unlikely to have the same controls as the late 50's Fat Fifty, the cables may not be long enough on you 16ft'r anyway, but get the controls, and make sure the motor & control end of the cables have the correct ends. You can get replacement cables for many E/J motors. May want to replace them anyway, 35-45yr old cables may not operate correctly.

PM headed your way, the Fat Fifty might be something I'd be interested in seeing up close....

Nice looking, interesting 2 little circular patches (?). Sometimes they might be bow docking lights, but they seem to be in a strange location for that.

I'm looking for a 1958 V4S10 Fat Fifty:

Shouldn't take long to pull up the deck

Hull & paint look pretty good for 50+ yrs old!

The steering wheel can be restored, POR15 makes a kit, but there are other ways. The controls that came w/ the 50hp can too, and tend to be pricey, esp w/ the cable ends for both the motor & controls.

Don't sell the motor w/ out at least giving it a good once over & checking to see if it'll run.
