Hello all, I have a 1965 Mercury 900 90HP Straight 6, 2 Cycle. I went out crabbing the other day and was running wide open for about 15 minutes and the motor just shut off "no odd noises". I went to restart it and it wouldnt start. I then pulled the choke and it fired right up and ran well appx 20 minutes until we reached our spot. As we were crabbing throught the day when moving from trap to trap "Very Slowly" it would start to run rough then stall out. I wasnt ever able to restart it unless I pulled the choke and it started right up.
At the end of each run, trap to trap that is... I would throttle the boat up in neutral and it blew some white smoke but not much.
If you could please explain to me what might be causing this with a detailed explanation of how to fix it I would really Appreciate it.
