1965 Evinrude 9.5 hp hole? Please help

I have a 1965 Evinrude 9.5hp Sportwin leaking geat lube out of a small hole in the boot (see pictures.) At first I thought maybe it used to be a freeze plug and that all a needed to do was plug it. Thanks in advance for any help.

Are you sure it's gear oil, looks like a drain for the exhaust housing. You would see unburn't fuel mixed with crud in the exhaust housing leaking out of there.

yup, im sure its gear oil. Or at least it looked and smelled like gear oil. I had the motor laying on the ground when i noticed it. Thought it was leaking from the exhuast. But when i sat the motor upright i saw the oil coming out of this hole.

BTW Just to give a little history, this motor has been sitting for about 3 years. I changed the gear oil, then ran the motor in a barrel. It was after running it in the barrel that i had sat the motor down and noticed the leak. Changed the gear oil again to see if water had gotten in but didn't see any water. The last major work done to the motor was about 4-5 years ago when it had seals, gaskets, water pump, and pretty much a complete overhual.
