I have bought a 2005 mercury 30 hp two stroke and have a couple of questions.
The gear oil is a light grey in colour, could this be caused by condensation or is it a leaky seal?
There are two small about 5 mm holes on each side of the lower unit just above the fill/drain plug, what are these and is it a bad sign if oil/water weeps out. The petrol used could have excess oil in it.
