The past few times I've flushed my 2011 4.3L MC I've heard a faint whistling coming from around the prop. Also, I flush with the drive all the way down water poors from around the housing(which I know is normal) but there is just a trickle of water leaving the prop. I remember my outboard spraying quite a bit more water out of the prop on muffs. Normal or not?

Ayuh,.... Sounds like it's been run, Dry, 'n burnt up the shutters....

My guess is the remnants have fallen into the exhaust cavity in the drive...

Is it the whistling or the amount of water leaving the prop that makes you think the shutters are burnt up? It's never been run dry before. I am meticulous with my care. Any other reason a shutter would fail prematurely?
