1999 Evinrude 175 HP Ficht
My faria Tach with indicator lights only gives a tach reading when I give it about 3/4 throttle. When I start the engine, I don't get anything on the Tach but the indicator lights function as they are supposed to. If I remove the gauge and connect a meter to the gray lead (signal lead from the engine) and the black (ground) lead I get readings from 7 and up as I throttle up. It appears that the tach part of the gauge is not working properly or the signal is not being received until I give it the gas. Question is: can this be fixed or do I need to purchase a new gauge?
