Outdrive installation Question

In the Mercruiser #14 manual, it states: Rubber gasket must be properly positioned and GLUED in bell housing bore before installing drive unit or water may leak into boat. And coat entire studs and threads with 2-4-C Marine Lubricant with Teflon.
My questions are;
1- What kind of glue can you use? Does it have to be from Merc. or can you get it from an auto parts store?
2- What is the Marine Lube with Teflon, is it like anti-seize, or is it a sealant? Is it necessary?

I use Mercs Bellows adhesive, but any contact cement will hold it in place until you install the drive. The glue does nothing after the drive is on.

Merc 2-4-C grease has teflon in it. You can get it from your local Merc dealer at the same time you get bellows adhesive if you go that route. Basically, any grease will do, it's just there to prevent corrosion. Forget ever-seize, that stuff is just nasty and messy and doesn't do anything the grease won't do, and it's a lot easier to clean up after. One spot of ever-seize will paint a whole boat.
