When I opened my boat this year and noticed my compass was broke I should have taken it as a sign. It's been one hell of a short and expensive season for me, I uncovered the shrink wrap in the beginning of July and have been working on it every chance I can since. With my mechanics worked out I'm good to go except for a soft spot on the starboard side deck around the pedestal chair. The boat has what I call coffin bunks that go from the cabin to the back of a step up deck. Getting to the rot without tearing in to the outer skin is possible but is by no means a reason to quit my day job. I used a multi cutter with a saw wheel and a shop vac running and was able to get it all out without cutting through to day light. I'm using West Systems 105-206-403 for my very first try at any type of structural boat repairs. I'm using 3/4" MPW that I'll barrier coat. Looking at the pics there's a live well to the right, Should I epoxy a main cleat to that? I was going to mix epoxy to a mayo/peanut butter consistency and sandwich the ply to the outer skin and brace tight. Is there any other tips you guys would be willing to type for a willing to learn green horn? http://s1169.photobucket.com/albums/r515/SecondChanc260/
