Backdriving SX Drive

With the VP SX-M outdrive removed, can the input drive shaft be rotated in forward or reverse by manually rotating the propeller? This info will help me determine a drive issue. Many thanks!!

Yes, but you can feel more by turning the ujoint shaft and shifting. The propshaft would hold one direction and turn the other/
