The SLOW feature was in the 1988 and newer models. The model number will tell you what year the motor is. The 87 & earlier motors had a single small power pack mounted on the top of the block towards the port side, the 88 & newer motors had a larger pack mounted in the center of the top of the block. If you look on a parts diagram you can tell which ignition system you have.
