I have a 1980 Mercruiser 140hp sterndrive.
The original trim pump died so I replaced it with a newer one. Both pumps have a smaller diameter outlet and a bigger diameter outlet to connect the trim hoses.
I assumed the larger line that went to the reverse lock is the "up" line? Is this not the case, is the larger diameter line that goes to the reverse lock really the "down" line?
The smaller diameter line is what allowed my out drive to lower when I loosened the connection, so I assumed this was my down line?
Here is a picture of the trim pump I replaced mine with (An upgrade from single solenoid to dual)
Thank you all in advance.
