1985 150 has water leaking out of the top of the cylinder head

The water is coming out of the thermostat i guess breather i changed the thermo and the plunger looking thing ok every thing in side but i still have a leak slow drip that falls on to the spark plugs cant seem to get it to stop please help and by the way this is the best site ever. holy bull dolphin i need help.

Did you replace the themo cover gasket and use a wee bit of RTV?

could be water jacket seal.

did not use rtv the leak is out of the little hole i think its a breather hole allows the plunger to open the rubber gaskget inside seemed to be not a perfct fit so should i rtv it. its a blck rubber circle about the size of a quarter that has a plunger screwed into it and then a spring not the easiest to put back.
