Default Grounding aluminum boat

As many of you know, I am in the process of building an aluminum boat out of an old Starcraft. Should I ground the boat to the negative side of the battery? I thought that I read some where that it should be done.

Clamping/bolting the motor to the transom may make an incidental electrical connection to ground (- terminal), but don't count on that connection for anything electrical. Run + and - wires from the battery or power bus for everything.

Thought101,The motor had better not be grounded to the hull. The motor has it's own + and - cables that go directly to the battery.Any other components sould be operated from a seperate buss with it's own wires, directly to the battery.
