Aquired 3.4l mercruser, going through engine found water in crankcase. Found it did not have thermostat installed. Checked all plugs and no rust or moisture in cylnders. Boat has not been run in a long time aand i am going through all systems. Could this be from water sepage through carb or backwash through exhaust system?? Anyone come across this dilema, best way to proceed, check exhaust manifold? Any suggestions would be appreciaed.
