This sound like a carb problem

I have a 1986 110 hp evinrude v4. Won't idle but if you add gas either with the fast idle lever or selonoid button the engine goes up to 5000 rpm. Full throttle. Got it to run at idle afterwards but rough and dies after about 30 seconds.

If the compression and spark are up to shuff, I would overhaul the carbs.

Is there someone out there that rebuilds these carbs.

I'm mech inclined but never rebuilt a card. Is this something I should attempt

I would suggest that you get the FACTORY manual, you're gonna need it if you are going to maintain your engine anyways.
Read the section on overhauling the carbs, if you think it's something you can handle, go for it.
It sounds a lot harder than is actually is, with directions you can probably do it.
