Smoke in Carbs on shutoff

OK, I'll try to be brief. The issue is that when my 1980 Mercury 800EL 80hp 2-stroke 4-cylinder is turned off after a couple minutes of running, exhaust can be seen coming back out through the carburetor throat. Is this normal or indicative of bad reeds?

Thats not exhaust coming from throats and is perfectly normal..

Cooled fuel that was atomized by the carb ingested on intake stroke turning into vapor from the heat of crankcase...
