another stuck gimble bearing thread

Working on twins. Port drive, bearing puller (slide hammer) no big deal. Starboard, stuck!
mid 90's models Alpha gen II's.

Have tried the 1/2" threaded rod, but cannot seem to get an even pull from the homemade washer I built to squeeze in between the gimble housing and bearing.

Heres a picture. Don't think there is any chance of a snap ring in there anywhere or installed backwards.
Any suggestions?

I did. The axle puller I bought was too long and wouldn't fit between the gimble houseing and the bearing. I will probably try som heat next. No engines installed yet so I have some room to move around in there.

Got a fresh perspective this morning and realized the seal is what I was seeing on the inside. Used a punch to move it towards the bearing, stuck a 1/2" all thread through a stack of washers, out she came!

Is that seal even necessary? All it does is hold excess grease by the bearing, I usually clean out old grease anyway when I service the drive every year.I've found my axle puller will not fit because of the seal.
