Hi to all, I'm confused about this on going problem with my 1968 Chrysler 55hp motor going into forward and reverse. There's a rattling noise along with my shift arm jumping up and down while going into forward or reverse....Sometimes it will not go into forward or reverse and just rev up...My question to all is what kind of an issue am i dealing with here? I heard about these models getting silt around the shift rod which would make things bind up but I already tried spraying wd 40 down along the shift rod but didn't change a thing. Would this rattling like noise going in forward/reverse be a clutch problem or ???? Somebody please help me solve this problem since I'm trying to sell the boat fast before the cold comes!, Thanks.
