The boat in question is a 20'6" playcraft-hampton river skiff. The hull is a close imitation of the old ozark white river jon boats.

There are some mistakes in the draft of the report, most notably the 49" beam is incorrect. The boat has a 49" wide floor and it's beam at the gunnels is over 60", it is slender but not the toothpick the first data suggests.

The boat was loaded with one man at the tiller and no substantial weight in the bow. No mention of planing fins was made in the report so it is assumed they were not used.
This is about the worst weight distribution for a boat with over 6 inches of aft rocker but it still planed in five seconds, having a top speed of 24 mph and getting over 10 mpg while doing so.

I would like to see the same boat tested with a far lighter carbureted 18 looper, doel fins, and a couple rotund people in the bow.View attachment Riverskiff Performance Report.pdf
