As part of my first boat project I am rebuilding and painting the 1985 Spartan roller trailer. The Axle is square and measures 1.25". The spindles are 1". The hubs have 4 holes and use bolts instead of a stud and nut. The trailer was previously painted and any data on GVW, etc, is gone. The permanent registration sticker says 3000 lbs. Is that accurate for the size of my axle? And how do I go about getting a new sticker here in Minnesota? We registered the boat in my name when I bought it last winter but what about the trailer? What are the numbers on the hubs?

Thanks for your help, Dan...

3000 sounds about right on a single axle trailer with 4 bolt hubs

Ayuh,.... Those bearing races are BAD....

I think the 1" axles are only 2,000 lb. rated...

Dan the Spartan trailer I have I can still see most of the capacity label and the weight rating changes with the size of the tires. With 5:30x12 tires it's rated @ 1660#. This is a R16 Spartan roller tilt bed. Axles and springs on mine look same as yours.
