i have recently inherited a 1960 crownline run about. i can see where part of the keel is thin between driver and co-pilot. i have done some research on these keel protectors but it seems the reviews i have read are just about split down the middle between good and bad. any advise/yes vs no

Re: keel protectors

If you beach and need to protect the keel they are great. If you do not need the extra protection they will just lighten your wallet.

^^X2, Installed properly, they will protect the keel if you beach the boat.

Re: keel protectors

I had debated not getting one, procrastinated until I finally beached myself on a rock... Had a keel protector installed by the next weekend, over the repaired fiberglass. Now I would never run without one!
