Default Does anyone know how i can lower the motor on my pontoon boat

I'm a first time user here, so i hope someone can help me out. I have a 24' pontoon boat (Monark). My problem is that the 60hp Merc. sits in the water about 4" of water above the prop. I feel that the motor is not sitting down far enough in the water. When the boat is moving and i hit a small wave it lifts the motor out of the water. if the motor was lower i feel it would lift my bow up more for a better ride. I need some help on this one. Thanks

Hi Tx.I have a 24 foot Harris Flote Bote (pontoon) and part of the problem is when people sit towards the front with noone in the back it will raise the back end slightly and make it difficult if not impossible to pull the front up. Also when something 24 feet long rides up on a wave as it is coming down it will raise the back end. Ours is on a lake but I have heard similiar comments from people who are using theirs in larger rivers or channels where the waves are larger.

Thanks Mr. BillBut even when it's just me in the boat,it still pulls out of the water. there is an aluminum v-shaped piece under the transom. I wonder if i can lower the motor by using spacers to lower the whole transom.

tx,Do you have any more adjustment holes on the engine? Are you running a short shaft engine on a long shaft application?
