I was changing the oil on my F250 this weekend an inadvertenly knocked the wire off of the fuel filter assembly (under the hood). Part for the assembly # 6P3-24560-03-00
I was wondering if anyone can tell me what purpose the wire serves. The wire itself was covered in what looked like a red rubberized material and was inserted from the bottom of the assembly. No gas leaked out. Not sure exactly what it is. I reinserted it and it stayed. Would love to know if i should be concerned.
