Hello, I am repowering my Hydra-sports Vector 2400 CC and am looking for some opinions on which engine I shoud go with. I am currently running a 2003 Evinrude DI 250 2-stroke and am looking at the Yamaha 250 3.3L 4 stroke for $19.5 vs. the 300 4.2L for about 25k. Both costs are with new Command Link digital controlls and all instilation.
I top out on flat water at about 40mph now and don't want to loose the power/speed I have now.
Am I going to have enough power with the 3.3 or is it worth the extra money to move to the 4.2 300? Would that be overkill.. maybe too much weight ?
