My engine is running strange intermittently and I'm suspecting a sticky float. I don't have access to my service manual right now...I'm wondering, can I access the floats without removing the carbs on this motor? I'm an outboard newbie...thanks!!

Nope, you have to remove the lower part of the carb (float bowel) to gain access to the float.

Removing the bowls is no problem. I can access the bowls without removing the entire carb assembly though? If so, that would be great!!

I don't see how there is enough room to drop the bowels while the carbs are still mounted to the engine.
