Hi
I have a Evinrude yachtwin 1966 3hp engine and it is not running good for a long time.
It misfires sometimes, especially at low speeds and then dies but sometimes it runs for a long time before it starts to die.
I can prevent the engine to die if i give full throttle, after a while of full throttle i can go for low speed again...strange.
I have changed the spark plugs (NGK B6s) and checked the points (0.20), checked the impeller.
i have cleaned the carburator many times, changed the head gasket.
Can it be the ignition cables?
How have you adjusted the fuel mixture screw (knob)?
The older engines had mixture screws for both low and high speed but mine has only for the low speed.
