Can someone help me with a problem on my 1976 75 hp Evinrude outboard?

While fishing last weekend it started to sputter over the course of a 15 min period but kept running. After more sputtering it died and I cannot start it at all. I have put brand new gas in it, sprayed some in the carbs, and tried several combinations of choking and not choking with warm up lever. The boat has run great for 5 years up until this point. I believe I'm getting gas into the engine but I have no spark. I tested all 3 plug wires and there is no power going to them or each coil when I try to start it. I traced power coming in all the way to the rectifier. There is a wire coming in (which has power) and 2 wires coming out (only 1 has power.) Should I replace the rectifier? I can get it for $40 but the mechanic tells me he doesn't think this is a problem. I have no power beyond the rectifier but I have power going into it.
Could there be a problem with the flywheel or its components?
Please help!!

There are several componets in your ignition system that could cause your problem. I would suggest that you go to the CDI website and look up your engine and use their trouble shooting section to help you solve your problem. Very rarely does replacing parts at random cure the problem, and could cost a lot of money.

Well I got it running!!! I had a frienc come over and test certain spots with his voltmeter. I had voltage coming from the bottom of the power pack but not the top. My buddy told me that he was 99% sure that was the problem. I bought a power pack from a local marina for $135. I found several online that were under $100 but I did not want to wait for the delivery as I needed to go fishing the following day. Power pack was the problem!

Thanks for the help.
