Hi, i have a 28 hp outboard on my pontoon and got it back from repairs from a very sorry repair guy and there seems to be a small hose on the boat side of the engine that is not connected to anything, it has a very small opening and I figure it has to have something to do with it's uneven run at low speeds. The other end of the hose is connected to a joineer hose,I dont know where it goes and can't find where to reconnect it, a picture might help. I believe its around a 2000 model SPL.Can anyone help?

also there was a very high pitched whistle that went off for a while and finally stopped ,but I dont know where it came from or if it's connected to the problem.

I'm going to bet without looking up the engine that it is the vacuum hose that fits on the air silencer but we really do need a model number like Daviet said.

Look for a plate on the mounting bracket. that should have it on there.

Hi, problem solved-thanks for your help.It was a carburetor vacuum hose and it goes on a nipple that was supposed to be on top part of carburetor. The jerk of a repairman left off the nipple,so all I could see was a small hole.I called him and he knew right away what was talking about,so he must have known about it.The local marina"lake Ogemaw marina gave me the part free and it now runs great. If Anyone is near Secord lake area, avoid a supposed boat mechanic service called Mike's Mobile Marine.
