Hi
I just got this boat on a trade and the fuel tank is leaking somewhere, I've checked all the hoses and think it is in the tank itself somewhere... it looks like a stainless fuel tank but the boat is a 1978 so odds are it is rotten somewhere... my question is how do I get to the fuel tank? it is in the middle of the floor and looks to be built in under a layer of plywood. Do I have to cut the wood to get it out? or is that a bad Idea? any help or suggestions of how to go about finding and fixing the leak would be great . I am not a mechanic but I can fix the common problems in most things ... should I leave this to a professional or is it something a regular guy could tackle?

thanks in advance for any help you may be

Ayuh,.... Welcome Aboard,...

Ya might possibly get it out, by pullin' the motor 1st, or more likely, Yes, cut a hatch in the deck...

Don't even think of fixin' it,... Replace it.... I prefer Plastic...
