I have a 2004 bayliner 175 br with a 3.0l mercury inboard/outboard alpha one. When i purchased the boat from a private seller they had no maintenance records. I have had it for a year and a half and the only maintenance i have had done on it has been winterize and summerize. Also unlike any other boats engines i am having a hard time trying to find the hour indicator on the mercury so there is really no telling how many hours are on there. Any help and/or tips will be greatly appreciate it.

Re: Regular maintenance mercury 3.0l alpha one inboard outboard

Welcome to the forum! Looks like the best thing to do is to assume no routine maintenance has been done, other than winterize/summerize (although those terms mean different things to different people). Visit this thread, pour a cup of coffee or get a beer, and start reading up on all the fun things you get to do. IMHO, I'd recommend popping the O/D and changing the impeller, along with the other PMs that need to be done while the drive is off (inspections and lubing). Have fun!

How many hours have you put on it in the year and half you've owned it? First thing I did when I got a boat w/o an hour meter on it was to put one on, and start from ground zero.
