I have twin Mercruiser 165 I/Os with electric shift and one dead, apparently irreplaceable shift motor. I have dual shift units on the flybridge and in the cabin, connected to each other by cable. The cabin helm connects electrically back to the shift plate assembly on the inside of the transom behind each motor. What do I need to change both over to manual shift? If you've done this, any advice on what parts to get where and the procedure would be appreciated.
