I have a 1991 Mercruiser Alpha Gen 2 drive that came in two pieces from its previous home. it was apart for a water pump replacement and the man had a heart attack. The problem is that the water tube and connections from the lower unit to the upper are missing. I cannot seem to locate the propper fittings to remedy this problem. I looked on marine wholesale and there are several water tubes but im really not sure what it used to look like as this is my first project . I hope that you can steer me in the correct direction as far as what I am looking for.
Thanks
Dan

Dan, I had my '93 gen two apart last year and had to replace the water tube (burnt).

Go to this website and punch in your drive serial # (will be on the drive on gimbral ring and/or on side of drive).

Mercury Parts Express: https://webapps.brunswick.com/literature/literatureSearch.do
or
PPT Marine: http://www.perfprotech.com/store/default.aspx (type serial Number in "Search by Serial #"

When I punch in mine, the part number I replaced is:

Coupling Assembly: 816597A 1
Sleeve: 23-816583
O-Rings @ 2: 25-21836

These may or may not be the same as yours, but gives you a general idea. Best to search by your Serial #.

+1 on Whitefish's numbers....good info.... also,

Guide typically comes with the water pump rebuild kits. What washers are you missing? (photos of where they go are a big help).

More parts sources are:

www.crowleymarine.com

www.mercruiserparts.com

go to the parts search section and plug in your info. You get exploded drawings and part numbers/prices. Then can cross ref to other sites if you want (I even go to amazon....love the free shipping!....sometimes.)

Your tube looks like part number 32-860220 (sierra part 18-3221)

Go to the section marked Gear Housing, Driveshaft, Standard Rotation that is the section that covers all the water pump parts and the guide.
