Long time ago...er ah er ah.......on the tilt there should be a thing you can get ahold of, call it a circular hootus with a flat bar across it so that you can turn it one way or the other. Will either be on the bottom of the piston/pump assy, or on the motor assy. This is the fluid bypass. With it bypassed....probably turned 90 degrees from normal operation, the tilt fluid will bypass the tilt piston and you can tilt the engine manually.
