Hi all, new to the site so hoping someone can help out with some issues I've encountered.

1. Kept blowing the fuse (50 amp I believe?) that runs off the starter solenoid.
2. Every time I accelerated, I would get no power what so ever. I'm guessing it was flooding but not entirely sure about that. When I did accelerate slowly, I would start to pick up a bit of speed but then I could tell that it was slowing down and ready to stall. I got some carb cleaner and put some stuff into the gas tank but by the time I got all that done it was time to pull the boat as my vacation was over.

Thanks all,

Kevin.

Hello, first off, never throw fuel additives into the mix, unless you know the fuel is the problem, in which case you should probably drain the fuel first. The first thing to do, would be to figure out what type of problem it is. To test the ignition (or at least most of it) run a jumper wire from the positive side of the coil to the battery, just for testing. Also, take a spark plug that you have lying around, and test each cylinders spark. To test the fuel system, I would first recommend taking your fuel water separator off, and checking your fuel for debris, and water. If that checks out, make sure you have good airflow on the carb, and that there is no vacuum leak. (you can do this by spraying carb cleaner around the base of the carb, and seeing if the engine slows down) Also, have someone pump the throttle as you look into the carb, to see if your accelerator pump is working.

Good luck!
