Eviinrude 9.5hp 1973 fuelline

Hello I just picked up this evinrude 9.5hp and my fuel line on my tank doesnt clip in.It almost does.The fuel connector that sticks out of the cowling is just a little bit short.Is there a way to adjust it?? I use this fuel tank and line with my other evinrude outboards. thanks

sometimes if a person's line connector is worn/leaky, they slip a tiny o-ring over the stem on the motor side- hard to see

My fuel line fits all my OMC's including my former 73 - 9.5 Rick.

Try pushin it in without the clamp compressed until it clicks. It kept slipping off on mine till i did this.
