Re: Selling boats here or there???

No experience with iboats or boat trader but have sold 2 on craigslist. I'd say as large as a shotgun blast you can make when listing the boat the better off you'd be- craigslist, boat trader, iboats, local want adds, even ebay.

Clean it up, take some pics (closeup and zoomed out, preferably with the boat in the water) and even some video of it running and you can post a link to the video right in your add.

Put as much info as you can into your listing and be as clear as you can in the title so people can find it when they google search. For example, don't just list it as "boat for sale" because frankly IMO it will get overlooked. If its a bow rider, call it such and add in any keywords you can to the listing which will suggest there is a bow rider for sale to make your add easier to find during a search. For example, have the title read "Bow rider" but then in the listing itself further describe it as a "bowrider, open bow, speed boat, family boat" whatever, because you don't know what people will type in to search for their next boat.

Talk about maintenance, talk about what it needs to be perfectly running, talk about features, value, and how it was used- focus on what it can do for the buyer. Provide info as to how buyers can contact you with follow up questions.

Last thing - this is a ok time to sell a boat with spring being the best when everyone has the "itch". Best time would have been early spring but now's not bad. Don't wait until fall - everyone is looking for a deal by then.....
