89 SeaRay , 3.0 I/O mercruiser, 20 foot closed cabin. WOT 4400-4800 rpm
Have a Stainless prop on now and it got knicked on some rocks while trailering it. I cleaned up the knicks using a file, what a job that was.
My question is, I don't know what size it is to get a replacement / backup.
I don't have any performance issues so I guess I'll stay with the same size.
I found some numbers on the prop when it was off the boat. They were.

48-79794-17

I don't have a manufacturer only those numbers.

Do these give me the size etc. of the prop?

If I were to get an aluminum prop would I get the same size?

That is a merc part number for a Mercury Black max 17 pitch stainless prop

14.5 dia x 17 pitch RH rotation. Stainless steel. Merc outboard and I/O Mercruiser.

What is the WOT RPM with the current prop, 4400 or 4800? (That's the 3.0's recommended WOT RPM range, but what is your engine turning?)

Going from stainless to aluminum

If aluminum I'd go with a 14.5x19P 3 blade, or 14.5x18p 4 blade if you want better holeshot. (14.5" approximate diameter)

Or just stay with the 14.5x19P SS prop.

So, the word "yes" confuses you?

He'll pick up maybe 100-150 rpm; no big deal. Since he doesn't state what rpm he's turning, all we should suggest is getting the same size.

Aluminum and stainless steel props of like design are interchangeable. Visit the Mercury prop selector and you will see what I mean. For example, the SS Vengeance and Thunderbolt props are pretty much the same as the Black Max(aluminum) in design. They are interchangeable in application since the performance difference is negligible.
