Giday I am hoping to get a bit of assistance guidance.

I have recently bought a Baystar hydraulic steering kit to replace my mechanical steering. I was fitting today and all was going fine till I got to the bit about fitting to the tiller arm. I have noticed that the manual states I have to flip the plate to fit to a jonno 115 which is fine.

There are three holes in the tiller arm one marked 'p' one marked 't' and not sure if the third which is the closest to the engine has a mark. My mechanical steering came off the third hole, if I try to fit the hydralulic system on top of the tiller arm to the third hole there is not enough room between the hole and the cowling for the plate to fit in. Therefore, do I fit the plate underneath the tiller arm?? Can I use any of the holes in the tiller arm and if I do so, can I go either on top or underneath the tiller arm??

Is there any other tips anyone can suggest??

Thanks for your time

Regards Nobites

Nobites,

I put mine on a 1986 Evinrude 140hp and the plate fit under the tiller arm and lined up to the second hole. Hope you can see it in the picture.baystar.jpg
