hello i am looking for some help with my boat it is a 87 larson with a 2.5 mercruiser.it was not starting would crank and crank but would not fire found that there was no spark cleaned points and battery connections still was cranking but not firing after two or three days it fired and ran for about 30 seconds and quit.after this now all i get is a click from my slave solenoid.is my slave bad, also still no spark and noticed with ignition key on my purple wire and coil get very hot to the touch i belive that i now have two different issues,i would like to know how or if i can bypass the slave in order to at least get it to crank again so i can deal with the no spark issue that i believe stems from the hot purple wire.battery is charged and good.thanks

Re: slave solenoid

By "slave solenoid" do you mean starter solenoid? If so you can not bypass it. The click means it's working - so either the battery needs charging or the starter has burned out with all the cranking.
