anyone have an omc and/or a sierra part # for a carb kit for a 58 rude 18hp?

Sierra 18-7043 fits 18hp 1957-63

thanks F_R, can i assume that the float would be omc # 0396514? ( same as a replacement for the 5.5's/7.5's of the same era?)

Yeah, it is the same float. The number you gave sounds familiar, but I haven't looked it up.

thanks again. ive avoided working on anything bigger than 7.5hp, for a awhile, so this is new territory for me. wish i could figure out how to get the cowl off without causing damage! lol ( the head of the rear screw is stripped beyond using a flat screw driver, and i really dont want to risk damaging the cowl on someone else's motor!)

I have a '58 18hp Fastwin. I used a Sierra carb kit, but would recommend using an OMC kit from a dealer. Some of the gaskets did not fit quite right. Also, the shift lever can be pulled out and rotated down to make it easier to remove the cowl.
